Personal Profile

Ms. McCoy subscribes to the philosophy that lawyers, as relatively privileged members of society, owe a debt to the community.  As such, she has involved herself in a variety of charitable and civic endeavors throughout the course of her career.  For the past ten years, Ms. McCoy has volunteered her time with Liga International, The Flying Doctors of Mercy, a charitable organization that operates three free clinics in a remote region of Northwest Mexico.  Ms. McCoy regularly flies her Beechcraft Baron, loaded with doctors, nurses, dentists, and supplies to Liga’s clinics in the State of Sinaloa, where Liga’s volunteer medical and dental personnel typically treat over 3,000 patients in a given weekend.  Ms. McCoy also provides pro bono legal services to that organization, as well as to the indigent clients of the Orange County Public Law Center.

Shortly after relocating to California from Texas, Ms. McCoy worked as a volunteer with Human Options, a shelter for women who are victims of domestic violence and their children.  She also served for many years as an attorney-coach for the Edison High School Mock Trial Team as part of the Constitutional Rights Foundation’s Mock Trial Program.  Before joining Liga, Ms. McCoy volunteered her time as a pilot with The Fying Samaritans, a charitable organization providing medical and dental relief in Baja, California.

Ms. McCoy is a commercial pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings and owns and flies a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron.  She also occasionally co-pilots a Citation jet aircraft with husband Jack.
